I like when Emily says it takes time to trust yourself.

As a parent we often want to keep our child from hurting. It’s hard to be honest with ourselves.

Great conversation! Self-trust is a huge topic that has been quite tricky to navigate for me. I understand it as my ability to have my own best interests at heart and act accordingly. It's definitely a life long practice, cultivating that ability. Lovely to listen to you both!

Thank you so much, Alexandra!! Such a honor to have you listen and share your perspective. I really like your definition of self-trust too. It's a skill that's not as easy as one might think. Emily and I are doing our last live section tomorrow at 2 EST!!! Would love for you to join if you are available!!

THIS! This is what I am exploring as well, from a view that there is so much external "noise" that reinforces the silence of the internal compass.

I agree that curiosity is definitely an antidote to judgment as well- how can we teach that more? So important!

I would love to read the book

Yes that would be fantastic! I think that's something that is essential in early child development- and being taught it's ok to explore and make mistakes, and follow that "inner compass" wondering "why" all the time!

Yes, yes, yes!! 100% to the idea of allowing mistakes to be a way to actually BUILD trust with yourself.

@sarahfrancesmccormick - let's add this to our topic list for Monday! 🤗

AGREED!! If I would have learned this tool when I was little, I would have been able to avoid so many pitfalls! This is the kind of education we ALL need!
